These Terms of Service govern your use of Plague Map at https://plaguemap.online. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

What this site is

Plague Map is an independent editorial tracker of selected plague-related reports. It shows approximate locations, confirmation status, dates, and links to sources.

The site is not a government health service, hospital, laboratory, or diagnostic tool. Pins are not exposure zones. Counts on the map describe published coverage, not a live global case registry.

Medical disclaimer

Nothing on plaguemap.online is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a substitute for care from a qualified clinician or local public health authority.

If you have symptoms or think you were exposed to plague, seek prompt medical care and follow official guidance. Do not wait for this website to update.

Accuracy and sources

Reports are classified from public sources available at the time of editorial review. Status labels (including Unconfirmed) can change. Official denials, news articles, and laboratory confirmation are not the same kind of evidence.

We may omit events, delay updates, or make mistakes. You should read the linked source before relying on any figure or location.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, overload, or interfere with the site or its map tiles and APIs in a way that harms other users.
• Misrepresent map pins as confirmed infections, patient addresses, or official quarantines.
• Republish our pages as if they were issued by WHO, CDC, or another health authority.
• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, admin tools, or non-public data.
• Use the site to spread malware or unlawful content.

Accounts

Some features may require an account. You are responsible for the credentials you choose and for activity under your account. Notify us at support@plaguemap.online if you believe the account was used without permission.

We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms.

Intellectual property

The Plague Map name, site design, and original editorial text are owned by us or our licensors. Source articles remain the property of their publishers. Map tiles are provided by their respective vendors (including Esri and OpenStreetMap contributors) under their own terms.

You may link to plaguemap.online. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link. You may not copy the site wholesale or present it as an official outbreak dashboard.

Third-party services

The map, linked news articles, and optional analytics or email tools are provided by third parties. Their terms and privacy practices apply to those services. We are not responsible for content on websites we link to.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plague Map and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for decisions you make based on the map, including travel, medical, or business decisions.

Indemnity
